Images of Buenos Aires: European Heritage and Latin American Passion (private tour)
The birthplace of Tango and Argentina’s vibrant capital, Buenos Aires is as captivating as the dance itself, an irresistible mix of elegance, passion, and culture. Commonly referred to as the “Paris of Latin America”, Buenos Aires is the best place in the world to enjoy a first-class tango show and to savor some of the tastiest steaks, accompanied by the celebrated Argentine Malbec wine.
Our expert “porteño” (as locals are called) guide will take you on a cultural journey, where you’ll visit the most iconic neighborhoods and learn about the highlights of the city; taking in its architecture, culture, history, and more! This tour is also a great opportunity to learn from your expert tour guide, the necessary information and useful tips to make the most of your free time in the city.
This is a private 4-hour tour. The usual three stops we make on this tour and walk are downtown (Plaza de Mayo), La Boca, and the Recoleta neighborhood (to visit the cemetery).

Jewish Life & Heritage in Buenos Aires (private tour)
The community is the largest in Latin America and the 7th largest in the world. Today, Buenos Aires’ Jewish heritage remains very much preserved. Our Jewish guide will introduce you to some of the unique features of Buenos Aires’ Jewish culture and heritage.
We’ll explore the traditional Jewish neighborhood of “Once”. This neighborhood is Buenos Aires’ version of Manhattan’s Lower East Side, and previously bustled with yiddishkeit: Jewish cafes, theatres, a Yiddish press, Jewish schools and businesses.
We will also visit what is arguably the most ornate synagogue in Argentina, and also oldest one, dating back to 1897: the Libertad synagogue, built in an impressive fusion of Romantic and Byzantine styles.
We’ll also visit the other important Jewish institutions like the site of the new AMIA building, the Jewish Community Center that was bombed by terrorists in 1994 and rebuilt in 1999.
This is a 4-hour private tour.
Day 3: Buenos Aires

The Woman Behind the Myth: Discovering the Real Evita (private tour)
Every nation has its heroes... those who leave an enduring mark in history, and even up to present day. For many Argentines, Eva Perón (also known as Evita), was such a hero. Serving as First Lady of Argentina from 1946 until her death in 1952, she was wife to powerful political leader and 3-time Argentine President, Juan Domingo Perón; as well as a key figure to understanding the development of the most important and influential political and social movements in Argentine history: Peronismo.
Evita was key in establishing women’s suffrage in Argentina (voting was reserved for men only) and greatly influenced the drafting and approval of workers’ rights legislation, which was practically nonexistent until then. She also spearheaded high-profile social welfare initiatives. On the other hand, she was ferociously aggressive against the wealthy minority, which earned her the passionate hate of Argentine landowners and industrialists. With that kind of staying political power, Evita has definitely earned her place among the country’s most influential legends. She was a powerful woman, during a time when women were supposed to remain silent.
On this intriguing Evita tour, our expert guide will take us to the sites that explain the political and cultural conflicts brought about by the emergence of Eva Perón; her political performance, her untimely death at the age of 33, and the continuity of her myth, even today.
This is a 3-hour private tour.

Seven Panoramic Boardwalks of the Mighty Perito Moreno Glacier
Prepare to visit one of the world’s most awe-inspiring and unique glaciers: The Perito Moreno. This bright white ice giant showcases its mighty glory in the Patagonian Glaciers National Park, which has been declared Mankind’s Natural Heritage site by UNESCO. The park’s vast size not only gives it the distinction of being the largest ice mantle in the world, after Antarctica, but also the third largest fresh water reserve on the planet.
The Perito Moreno is of the few glaciers in the world actually growing and advancing, as opposed to the majority of the world’s glaciers, which are retreating and melting due to the effects of global warming. The ice that serenely sits above the water measures an impressive 262 feet (80 meters), which is just about the height of a 25-story building! And while that’s an incredibly large size for the human eye to take in, consider that this measurement is only 15% of the glacier’s total height. Five times more ice is hidden underwater.
Our destination is the panoramic boardwalks which overlook the Perito Moreno Glacier. Here, amidst the backdrop of the majestic, snow-capped Andes, you’ll find yourself immersed in an unforgettable glacier experience, while enjoy amazing picture-taking opportunities from the seven panoramic balconies facing the front of the glacier.
While the glacier itself is definitely the main attraction, the park also boasts remarkable scenery as well as glacial streams, small lagoons, crevasses, gullies, and plenty of ice formations that’ll dazzle the eye, surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Andes Mountain range, lakes and forest areas.
This is a full-day group tour.

The Mighty Perito Moreno Glacier Close-up Navigation Experience
Take in the sheer size and beauty of the Perito Moreno Glacier as it towers before you, from an exciting close-up perspective, as we cruise across the pristine waters of the Rico Branch of the Argentino Lake, which borders the Southern wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier.
The sheer magnitude of the southern wall alone is a humbling and inspiring sight. We’ll be stopping about 985 feet (300 meters) away from the southern wall of the glacier for some epic picture-taking opportunities that will showcase the grand scale and beauty of the glacier.
This will be definitely a different perspective from what you experience on the panoramic boardwalks.
This navigation is a 1-hour group tour done on the same day you do the Perito Moreno Glacier tour.

Witness the Unique Power & Might of the Iguazu Falls from the Argentine Side (private tour)
“You might have seen the photos. Even read about it. You might have visited other great waterfalls before. But you probably still have no idea what to expect when you come face to face with the almighty Iguazu Falls,” stated CNN in their article “Iguazu Falls: Why this natural wonder should be on everyone’s bucket list". To put that into perspective, Iguazu Falls is nearly twice as tall as Niagara Falls and nearly three times as wide. The late U.S. First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt, was reportedly so impressed by the sight of Iguazu Falls that she exclaimed “Poor Niagara!”
In 1984, Iguazu Falls became a UNESCO World Heritage Site; and in 2011, it was selected as one of the 7 winners of the “New Seven Wonders of Nature” worldwide competition in which more than 100 million votes were cast.
Their size and scale are unlike any other waterfall on Earth. Made up of a system of 275 waterfalls, they have a staggering water flow of up to almost 3.5 million gallons (13 million liters) per second – enough to fill five Olympic swimming pools!
Unlike Niagara Falls, which is surrounded by developments such as casinos, a revolving restaurant, and coffee shops, Iguazu Falls are located within one of the few remaining inland rainforests in South America, the Atlantic rainforest, which is a haven for more than 2,000 plant species, about 400 birds species, and 80 types of mammals!
This is a full-day private tour.
Day 12: Last day in Iguazu

Behold the Breathtaking Panoramic Views of Iguazu Falls from the Brazilian Side (private tour)
With 80% of the falls located on the Argentine side, it is only from the Brazilian side that one can see almost all of them at once, in full, breathtakingly panoramic views.
The Brazilian side offers majestic scenic views of the beauty and entirety of the falls; this is because the Brazilian footbridge lies across the river from the falls, offering a unique perspective and epic scenic views, making the Brazilian side different and absolutely complementary to the experience from the Argentine side.
This is a half-day private tour.

Walking Among Exotic Birds in the Iguazu Rainforest (private tour)
You’re about to enter a one-of-a-kind bird sanctuary! Here you’ll find the largest colony of toucans on display in the world, as well as the largest colony of parrots on display in South America, along with 150 different bird species from Brazil and all over the world, many of them endangered.
Located in the midst of the lush tropical rainforest, Foz Tropicana Bird Park is an internationally-recognized rescue and preservation center for endangered birds; and it’s among the most important ones in South America. You’ll find yourself side by side a myriad of exotic birds, in the three walk-in aviaries, where you’ll have the opportunity to have an up-close and personal experience with amazingly colorful parrots and Toco Toucans, among many other birds… all of them right next to you or even flying over your head!
In addition to the diversity and beauty of the birds you’ll see, the park itself presents itself as a unique location. It covers nearly 40 acres (16 hectares) of rainforest, so you’re quite literally going to find yourself in the middle of nature as you make your way along the trails!

Exploration Journeys gave me the gift of peace of mind; exactly what you need on vacation.

He made all the difference and created a trip that exceeded every expectation.
TRIP REVIEW OF BRIDGET & CARL LONG AND FAMILY
"This was our first trip to Argentina. We’ve traveled to Peru and Ecuador previously, but this trip was extra special because we brought our two sons (ages 7 and 9) and planned to see so much more. Given such a large and amazing country, it was hard to know what to prioritize, how to handle all of the logistics, transfers, and flights, and we needed to be extra conscientious given the kids (e.g., making sure we had kid-friendly tours, connecting hotel rooms, etc.).
I am so grateful that I stumbled upon Exploration Journeys and Fred after starting the research process. He made all the difference and created a trip that exceeded every expectation. Once learning of our interests and intended trip goals, he crafted an amazing trip that made sure we got to experience so much of the wonder of Argentina.
His personalized website and many, many pictures gave us a great sense of what he was suggesting, and no question was too small when we reached out to him.
I so appreciated the attention to detail, as that can make or break a trip (especially with kids). We had a fantastic time without any stress. The pace Fred suggested was just right to maximize our time there without tiring everyone out.
All of the transfers, flights, and hotels worked out beautifully, and the tour guides were all great matches for our family. Fred even made great restaurant and other recommendations for when we had downtime.
I cannot express greater satisfaction and thankfulness to him. If only he would plan ALL my trips! Exploration Journeys gave me the gift of peace of mind; exactly what you need on vacation."

TRIP REVIEW OF SUSAN & ARI SPAR AND FAMILY
"As avid travelers, my husband and I normally book our trips ourselves but with the sheer number of incredible places to visit in Argentina (combined with our desire to do it all), we knew we needed some help. The second we found Fred's website, we knew his services would be amazing.
We wanted to take a family trip to Argentina. This was not just any ordinary family trip, this was for our daughter’'s Bat Mitzvah, it had to be perfect! We were lucky enough to find Fred and Martin and their team at Exploration Journeys.
From the very beginning I knew we were in good hands. Fred created a personalized itinerary for our group; I must say, not an easy task. We were 22 people, ranging in ages from 8 to 80, traveling to 4 cities in twelve days.
From organizing all the hotels, flights, guides, activities, dinner reservations and transfers I thought for sure there would be some bumps in the road, yet it was smooth as glass. With 5 domestic flights, we were nervous about getting to the airport and checked in on time. On travel days, our guide would show up early, collect us, our luggage and hand us our boarding passes. We were escorted to the check in counters to drop our bags. When we landed in our destination, our new guide and transfer was waiting to greet us and had everything we needed for the next part of our journey! So seamless and easy, I wish I could have them with me for all my travels from now on!!!
No request was too big, not even when we asked Fred & Martin ( last minute I must add) to make up 22 special t-shirts ,ranging in sizes , to remember our SPARGENTINA 2014 family trip. The t-shirts arrived within hours… Our trip was simply epic.
The icing on the cake was in Buenos Aires, where Martin and Fred arranged every last detail for our daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. We felt like A-list celebrities starting off with hair and makeup in our hotel suite. They organized the perfect Synagogue and cantor with the most wonderful luncheon celebration afterwards, all we needed to do was show up with the Bat Mitzvah girl. With attention to every little detail in every aspect: the hair, the makeup, dietary restrictions, the party, it was over the moon. The pride that Fred and Martin took in preparing this special event was filled with love as if it were for their own family.
We can not thank them enough for making our daughter's Bat Mitzvah a truly once in a lifetime event, she, along with the rest of our group, will always cherish the memories of these amazing 2 weeks."

A Speedboat Adventure Up-Close the Iguazu Falls
Get ready for a thrilling speedboat adventure, enjoying a unique, up-close perspective of the majestic Iguazu Falls and experience a different viewpoint of the falls from what you’ll see from the panoramic boardwalks. Our speedboat will zip the waters of the Iguazu River and approach the falls getting thoroughly splashed by their mist as you hear their loud roar!
This ride provides a unique and extremely close-up view of the San Martin and Three Musketeers falls with the opportunity to take outstanding close-up photos. The high point of this experience will be without a doubt, being showered under the mist of the San Martin Falls; the second strongest falls in the Iguazu system. Now it’s time to hop on board and begin our waterfall adventure!
This is a 12-minute group tour and is done on the same day you do the Argentinean side of the falls tour. This tour has an age restriction (click on tour name above for details).
Day 11: Iguazu

This visit lasts about an hour and a half to two hours and takes place on the same day as your Brazilian side of the falls tour.

We had a fabulous trip, saw amazing scenery, ate delicious food and learned so much about beautiful Argentina. It was the trip of a lifetime and one that our kids (18, 16 and 14) will truly remember.
Fred planned everything beautifully--he worked with us through an itinerary that would work for our family of 5, booked all the amazing guides, recommended restaurants and coordinated all of the logistics.
Beyond all of the above, Fred was truly a lifesaver. Our son ended up getting pretty sick and Fred was available 24 hours a day to help us coordinate doctors, thermometers, hotel staff, drivers and translators. He gave us huge peace of mind and truly helped us navigate what was a challenging situation.
TRIP REVIEW OF JONATHAN & LAUREN SHAPIRO AND FAMILY
"We just returned from 2 weeks in Argentina and I can't say enough great things about Fred and the team at Exploration Journeys! We've had friends who have used Fred and they spoke so glowingly about his end-to-end service. We had never been to Latin America before and knew that we needed a guide to help us with planning and execution. It was a no brainer to turn to Fred.
The experience was even better than we ever could have imagined. Fred planned everything beautifully--he worked with us through an itinerary that would work for our family of 5, booked all the amazing guides, recommended restaurants and coordinated all of the logistics. We visited Buenos Aires, El Calafate, Bariloche and Iguazu and everything was absolutely seamless.

Day 10: Iguazu

Get ready for a thrilling speedboat adventure, enjoying a unique, up-close perspective of the majestic Iguazu Falls and experience a different viewpoint of the falls from what you’ll see from the panoramic boardwalks. This ride provides a unique and extremely close-up view of the San Martin and Three Musketeers falls with the opportunity to take outstanding close-up photos.
