"Many thanks to Exploration Journeys for a truly once in a lifetime trip across Argentina! Our family party was challenging in that we ranged in age from 6 years old to 40 somethings to mid 70’s, but Fred talked at length with us about what we were looking for and managed to design an amazing itinerary that everyone could manage and genuinely enjoy.
Our 11 day trip spanned Buenos Aires, the stunning Iguazu Falls (both the Brazil and Argentina sides), Puerto Madryn / Cape Valdes (where we got to fulfill Grampa’s dream of walking with penguins and also see all sorts of other unusual Patagonian wildlife), the breathtaking glaciers at El Calafate and the unique experience of being at the “end of the world” in Ushuaia and so close to Antarctica.
The team was consistently quickly responsive to our many questions in the months leading up to the trip and gave helpful instructions on everything from obtaining visas to health insurance and advice on what to pack. They even gave us a list of suggested dinner venues for each night (which wasn’t always easy given we were there over the Christmas holidays) and made the reservations - and every suggestion was spot on!
Once we were in country, Fred’s team coordinated the logistical feat of our many internal flights and transfers, all of which were quite comfortable and made this daunting agenda totally doable. We were met at every location by truly best in class tour companies with excellent guides that spoke fluent English and led us through the countless gorgeous sites and natural wonders we were lucky enough to witness, with interesting historical and scientific context as well as patience answering my children’s (many) questions. We were so touched by the kindness of everyone we met and impressed at the depth of their knowledge. The hotels were all beautiful and very comfortable with convenient locations for each site we stayed at.
Special thanks to John who helped both with pre-trip logistics and while we were on the ground. He did everything from changing dinner reservations last minute to tracking down a beloved stuffed animal we forgot at our Buenos Aires hotel (which was safely stowed and returned to us when we came back for our flight home) to even coordinating multiple birthday cakes for my children!
This was a comprehensive journey across Argentina that we most certainly could not have designed on our own and honestly didn’t have the time or capacity to think about in our busy daily lives. We couldn’t have been happier with the choices and are still so amazed at how easy Fred and team made everything for us.
